Texas weather has a mind of its own, and if you've lived here for more than a season, you already know that. Between sudden storms, triple-digit heat, and the occasional cold front that shows up out of nowhere, weather is one of the most common questions I get from clients booking a session. So here's everything you need to know about how rescheduling and weather work when you book with Nabors Media.
Why Weather Matters for Your Session
Good light is everything in photography, and weather affects that more than people realize. A session planned for golden hour can be completely thrown off by an unexpected storm rolling in, and harsh midday sun after a rain delay isn't the same look you booked for. My goal is always to get you the best possible photos, and sometimes that means being flexible with timing rather than pushing through less-than-ideal conditions.
My Weather Policy
If the forecast is calling for rain, severe storms, or conditions that would seriously affect the quality of your photos, I'll reach out as early as possible to talk through options. Sometimes that means shifting your session a few hours, sometimes it means picking a new day entirely. I keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your session and I'd rather move things around than have you stand out in a downpour or squint through harsh, flat light.
Light rain or overcast skies aren't always a dealbreaker; overcast days can actually make for really soft, flattering light. Severe weather, high winds, or extreme heat are usually the conditions that call for a reschedule.
How Rescheduling Works
If we need to reschedule due to weather, there's no fee and no hassle. I'll work with your schedule to find the next best date, and your deposit carries over automatically. My goal is to make this as stress-free as possible since weather delays are completely out of your control.
If you need to reschedule for a reason outside of weather (a sick kiddo, a work conflict, life happening), just reach out as soon as you can. I ask for at least a week's notice when possible so I can adjust my schedule and offer your original time slot to someone else if needed.
What to Do If You're Not Sure
If the forecast looks questionable leading up to your session, don't stress about it. I'm watching it too, and I'll always reach out before I let a session happen in conditions that won't do your photos justice. If you're ever unsure, feel free to message me directly and we can make a game-time call together.
Booking With Peace of Mind
Sessions are an investment, and I want you to feel confident booking with Nabors Media knowing that weather won't derail your experience. Between flexible rescheduling and keeping a close eye on the forecast, my goal is simple: get you great light and great photos, even if that means adjusting the plan along the way.
